Not much is known about Anna. Different sources list her maiden name as Monuskey, Mahoosky, and also as Hill. Family story says her father was W. W. Monuskey, but that she told everyone it was Hill because she didn't want people to know she was of Polish descent.

She married Charles Nichols sometime between 1900 and 1904. She bore him 12 children, four dying in infancy and (at least) one being adopted out as a newborn. Family story also says her face was burned when a stove exploded. Because of this, no known photos exist of her. She died in 1926 at the age of 45 from pneumonia, leaving 5 minor children.
