When Willis arrived in Vietnam 17 November
1967 he was assigned to A Company,2nd
Battalion,327th Infantry,101st Airborne
Brigade,USARV.Willis was on guard duty at a
ARVN Popular Forces Post when it came under
attack by hostile forces.Willis died of a gun-
shot wound to the body as a result of hostile
rifle fire and 12 other soldiers died during the
attack on the post.
