Robert William Corbin

A tragic accident took the life of Robert William Corbin, while on a training mission two miles North East of Moody Air Force Base flying a T-33 air craft, in Valdosta, Georgia.

Robert had served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Air Force for the Korean War, and was temporarily assigned with the 3551st student sq; 3500th Flying training group at Moody. He had been stationed at Ent AFB ADC in Colorado Springs in 1952, and had began service at Moody on June 16, 1953, a few short weeks before his death on August 5, 1953.

Bob was born in Oklahoma October 21, 1926 to Bert Orvil Corbin and Edith Eliza (Hitchcock) Corbin. He attended Central High School in Saint Joseph, Missouri where in his sophomore year he was on the student council.

Bob leaves to mourn his loss: his parents, and numerous aunts,uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: John Anderson Corbin ; Catherine Spurrier Corbin ; Lumen Hitchcock ; and Hattie Hitchcock ; and one sister, Catherine Ann Corbin.
