Will Ryan "W.R." Pellum, of Islandton, died April 6, 2009 in Walterboro.

Born in Colleton County, he was a son of the late William Benjamin Pellum and Annie Warren Pellum.

W.R. was a member of New Hope Advent Christian Church, where he served as a Deacon and on the Grounds and Building Committee. Mr. Pellum retired from Warren-Griffin Lumber Company in Williams.

Surviving are: his wife of 67 years, Evelyn Bishop Pellum; children, Judy Valentine and husband Mendell of Walterboro and Ryan L. Pellum of Islandton; daughter-in-law, Mary Pellum of Walterboro; sisters, Lois Bunton and her husband Jimmy of Walterboro and Jeanette Blackwelder and her husband Don of Columbia; grandchildren, Brandy DuBoise, William Benjamin Pellum, Jr., Stephen Valentine, Angie Colbert, Sherri Groves, Donna Hawkins, Sheila Ackerman, Dorinda Player, Jodi Pellum and Greg Pellum; and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, William Benjamin "Bill" Pellum and Liston Pellum.
