Clark Seton was born in Baylston, Iowa, August 5, 1862, and died at his home in Perry, January 13, 1925, aged 62 years, 5 months and 8 days. At an early age Mr. Seton moved with his parents to Marshall County, Kansas and grew to manhood there. On February 23, 1887, Mr. Seton was united in marriage to Miss. Ella Varetta Ross, and to this union three children were born: Bessie Seton-Robinson, who preceded her father in death on April 25, 1924, Ross of Perry and Max of Oilton. In 1894 he came to Oklahoma and bought a farm a few miles North of Perry. Too much could not be said about the fine deeds of this fine citizen. As a neighbor he was one who could depend upon for advice, council and aid. In later years the deceased moved to Perry, where he entered into the real estate and loan business. Building upon the solid foundation with fairness to all and partial to none, a business that is known as one of the most trustworthy and solid firms in this city. Mr. Seton was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church of Perry and was elected to the high office of Church Trustee, which he served faithfully for a number of years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 78, A.F.& A.M. Initiated as an Entered Apprentice October 23, 1901; passed February 21, 1902; raised September 19, 1902; Royal Arch April 2, 1909; Mark Master March 19, 1909; Most Excellent Master March 31, 1909; Red Cross October 29, 1909; Consistory Lodge Perfection October 8, 1918; Rose Croix September 24, 1919; Consil Kadosh September 25, 1919; Consistory September 26, 1919. He leaves to mourn his aged wife, two above named children, four grandchildren, two brothers Robert of Kansas City and Bert of Joplin, Missouri, two sisters, Laura Mahood of Atcherson, Kansas and Katie Starr of Frankfort, Kansas, one cousin George Seton of Uncas, Oklahoma; besides many, many friends in and around Perry. Funeral services were conducted from the family home the Rev. J.A. Nayle officiating. Interment was made in Grace Hill Cemetery the Masons administered their last sad rites of an honest and worthy brother, The Odd Fellows of which the deceased was a member were also in attendance and administered funeral rites.
