J. Frank Sentelle, Jr., age 86, of Marion, N.C., passed away Monday, April 6, 2009 at The McDowell Hospital.
Mr. Sentelle was born in Cumberland County, NC on March 7, 1923 and was a son of the late Frank Sentelle, Sr. and Mary Couch Sentelle.
Preceding Mr. Sentelle in death was his wife, Virginia Arrowood Sentelle.
He was a very active member of First United Methodist Church of Marion. He was a charter member of the Marion Civitan Club. He loved boating, fishing and being on the water. He was a US Naval Aviator having served in World War II.
Saddened by the loss of Mr. Sentelle are his daughter, Leigh McFalls and husband Roger of Hillsboro, NC; two stepdaughters, Diane Seagle Davis and husband Bill of Atlanta and Susan Seagle of Hickory. Four grandchildren also survive Mr. Sentelle.
A funeral service will be held Friday, April 10, 2009 at 11:00 am in Westmoreland Chapel with Rev. Michael Swofford officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 – 11:00 am, at the church.
Interment will be in McDowell Memorial Park with military honors provided..
