Nellie May Alexander Reeves was born 27 Sep 1906 in Park City, Summit, Utah, the third child of Henry Samuel Alexander (1878-1951, b. Heber City) and Nettie May Wallace (1885-1971, b. Omaha, Nebraska). The location of the parents burials/memorials have yet to be identified.

Between Sep 1906 and the 1910 Federal Census, Nellie and family moved from Park City to Robertson, Uinta, Wyoming. She married Alfred S. Reeves on 8 Oct 1924 in Uinta, Wyoming. Both the bride and groom were residents of Evanston, Uinta, Wyoming at the time of the marriage. Prior to the 1930 Federal Census, Nellie and Alfred moved to San Diego, San Diego, California where they remained until their deaths.

The Tale of Two Nellies

Three months prior to the birth of Nellie above, the birth of another baby girl occurred in the same town Park City on 27 Jun 1906. She was also named Nellie May Alexander. Her parents were Lola Springer and Charles Alexander. She was the eighth child born of that marriage. Nellie (27 Jun 1906), married Jack Arthur Smith on 6 Nov 1929 in Salt Lake City. Jack and Nellie moved to Oakland, Alameda, California prior to the 1940 Federal Census. (The FAG Memorial numbers for Jack Arthur Smith and Nellie May Smith are #99319845 and #99319976, respectively. Both are buried in Oakmont Memorial Park, Lafayette, Contra Costa, California.)

Both Nellie May Reeves and Nellie May Smith are related to each through their paternal line. Both named their first born daughters Jacqueline although there is a seven year different in the daughters ages.
