Her parents were Lola Springer and Charles Alexander. She was the eighth child born of that marriage. Nellie (27 Jun 1906), married Jack Arthur Smith on 6 Nov 1929 in Salt Lake City. Jack and Nellie moved to Oakland, Alameda, California prior to the 1940 Federal Census. (The FAG Memorial numbers for Jack Arthur Smith and Nellie May Smith are #99319845 and #99319976, respectively. Both are buried in Oakmont Memorial Park, Lafayette, Contra Costa, California.)
Both Nellie May Reeves and Nellie May Smith are related to each through their paternal line. Both named their first born daughters Jacqueline although there is a seven year different in the daughters ages.
