Coila Emile Eakin was born in 1899, the first child of John Perry and Mary Elizabeth Monsey Eakin.
She moved with her family to Hale County Texas where she grew up in the Running Water Community.
She also lived in Abilene for several years, later moving to McGregor, TX where she lived at the time of her death.
Coila had two sisters, Eva Eakin Hoover and Mary Eakin Cantrell as well as three brothers; Ward, O'Keefe and John. Two other siblings died in infancy.
