Eva Daisy Eakin was born February 6, 1911 in Hale County Texas to John Perry and Mary Elizabeth (Daisy) Monsey Eakin. She attended school in the Running Water Community near Plainview TX.

She married Robert Lester Hoover on November 30, 1929 in Clovis New Mexico.

The couple lived in Borger Texas for several years, moving to McGregor in 1954 where she lived at the time of her death.

Eva was an artist and left numerous paintings to family members as a remembrance of her. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, McGregor Garden Club, Friendship Sunday School Class the the United Methodist Women's Ione Clay Circle.

She was the mother of Kathryn Dale Hoover Bishop and Robert (Bob) Lester Hoover Jr. Another son, Tommy Joe, died in infancy. She had five grandchildren and five great-granchildren.

Eva had two sisters, Coila Eakin and Mary Eakin Cantrell as well as three brothers, Ward Eakin, John Eakin and O'Keefe Eakin.
