Lester Hoover was born June 23, 1910 in Arkansas. He moved to Texas as a child and graduated from Running Water School, near Plainview. He farmed for a brief time in that area.
He married Eva Eakin in November, 1929, in Clovis NM.
He moved to Abilene in 1941 and worked for Philips Petroleum Company, later transferring with that company to Borger. He moved to McGregor TX in 1954 where he worked for Rocketdyne until retiring in 1975.
He was the father of two children, Kathryn Dale Hoover Bishop and Robert L. Hoover Jr; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A son, Tommy Joe, died in infancy.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church, McGregor.
