It is believed by myself and another researcher that H. C. Lewis is indeed William Aden Tubb.
Why William changed his name and moved to Oklahoma is unknown. This would not be the first time someone might have committed a crime and needed to move and start a new identity.
H.C. Lewis' death certificate states that he was born in Mississippi in April 1887, that he was a house painter and that his mother was a Holland. All this fits Wm. Aden Tubb.
