Thos. Highfill, Sr., died at his residence, Tuesday morning, March 7, 1899, of pneumonia. Mr. Highfill is one of the oldest settlers here, and one of the most highly respected citizens. He was a member of the F. A. A., and his widow will get $900 benefit. He was buried in Fairview Cemetery at 1 o'clock, March 8, '99. In losing Mr. Highfill the community loses a good citizen, and his family a loving husband and father. Rest in peace.
