Obituary reprinted from "The Naperville Clarion", Thursday, April 21, 1932.

Claude Vinton Leffler was born in Naperville, Illinois, May 24, 1878, and departed from this earthly life in the evening of April 15, 1932, in the St. Charles Hospital, Aurora, Illinois, after a prolonged period of sickness. His age was 53 years, 10 months, and 22 days.
The deceased was the third son of one of our well-known pioneer families that of the late Jeremiah Leffler who passed from our midst in the year 1914. Claude was one of seven children.
In early life Mr. Leffler attended the old Ellsworth school, receiving and enjoying the privileges and benefits afforded by the earlier fine public institutions of this city. Early on he worked with his father at the carpenter trade. Later he was engaged in sales and clerical work at several of the then established business houses of this city. These connections gave him a wide acquaintance with the people of this community. The past twelve years were spent largely in service on the Board of Review of DuPage County, and in this capacity he extended his acquaintance and secured the friendship of many of the people in the county. This is attested by the fact of many showing a deep interest in his welfare during a two-year period of sickness.
Claude was greatly interested in the work of the Masonic Order. Initiated in the Euclid Lodge No. 65, A.F. & A.M., he carried forward the work successfully, honored with position and title, until he became identified with some of the highest orders in Masonic work. Many of the friends present can bear witness to the deep interest he had in Masonic work, and by those who knew him best is loved and appreciated.
The members of the immediate family surviving are his aged mother, Mrs. Jeremiah Leffler, with whom the deceased has always had his home; three brothers, Burton R. of Cleveland, Ohio, Ralph R. of Edison Park, Chicago, and Earl E. of Naperville; also, a sister, Ada B., now the wife of Dr. Elmer D. Graper, of Pittsburgh, Pa. There are also numerous other relatives residing in this community and elsewhere.
Funeral services were held at the Arthur R. Beidelman Chapel, Monday afternoon, April 18, at three o'clock. Rev. H. H. Kalas, pastor of the Grace Evangelical Church officiated and Mrs. Frank Unger sang. The local Masonic Fraternity had charge of general arrangements. This body conducted a service at the chapel and committed the body to the grave, the service being most beautiful and impressive for a departed friend and brother. Interment was made in the Naperville Cemetery.
