Amanda (Laird)) Coats had one child, Iona (Coats) Geddes Hendy. Iona was first married to John Curtis Geddes and had two daughters, Myrtle (Geddes) Royer and Doris (Geddes) Newman. After the death of John Curtis Geddes in 1899, Iona moved to Alberta, Canada where she was married to Charles Hendi or Hendy from England. They had two daughters, Grace (Hendy) Drew and Anna (adopted and moved to California) Doran.
