His will is dated May 22, 1728, and in it he wills a half a lot of land in New London, and says the other half belongs to the children of Joseph Plumb [his brother] of Milford, deceased. Will proved June 12, 1728. He names all his children except the first Samuel and Hannah...His tombstone inscription says he died May 19, 1728, but is was probably May 29...His age was on the tombstone very indistinct, but I believe it was 58."
(Above information from THE PLUMBS, 1635-1800, by Henry Blackman Plumb, family historian, published 1894)
