Belvidere News 7-24-1930:
William I. Bartlett was born August 20, 1856 in York Mills, Canada and died at Hebron, Nebraska at the age of 73 years, 11 months and 6 days. He moved with his parents to Cleveland, Ohio when a boy of 7 years of age. He came to Nebraska when 19 years old, landing in Belvidere when there was very few inhabitants. He worked at odd jobs until he settled down to farming at the age of 22 years. He was married to Rosetta Marshall of Belvidere on June 25, 1879 and to this union was born 12 children, 5 girls and 7 boys, 3 dying in infancy. Mrs. Bartlett preceded her husband in death 10 years, dying March 25, 1920. The names of the children are as follows: Cora S., John J., Wm. I., Jr., Frank A., Cecil L., Etta M., Ollie E. Viola M., and 35 grandchildren. All the children except two attended the funeral.
Mr. Bartlett joined the Christian Church in younger years and was a firm believer in his Lord and Savior.
Mr. Bartlett worked hard for his wife and family.
Funeral services were conducted at Belvidere in the Methodist Church.
Interment was in the Belvidere Cemetery by the side of his wife.
