Lucy (Hadsell) Curtis, 82, of Unionville, widow of Gordon N. Curtis, passed away peacefully Thursday, (March 10, 2005). Born November 20, 1922 in Hartford, daughter of the late Luther and Ellen (Cone) Hadsell Sr. She was a graduate of Farmington High School, Class of 1939. Lucy loved playing the piano and writing poetry. Some of her works were put into collections entitled ''Poems and Golden Thoughts.'' She also had two poems put to music by Hiltop Records. She is survived by her son Douglas O. and his wife Carol G. Curtis, of Terryville; her daughter Elizabeth ''Betsy'' E. Curtis of Unionville; a sister-in-law Ruth of Unionville, a brother Luther Hadsell Jr., of Burlington; a grandson Robert Wilcox of Terryville and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her dear sister Ruth Hadsell, whom she loved and missed her entire life. Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main Street, Rt. 4, Unionville, on Monday, March 14 from 10-11a.m. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. in The Ahern Funeral Home with the Rev. James Hoffman officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Avon.
