Olive L. Truman
Graveside services for Olive L. Truman, 89, Grandview, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Hazelwood Cemetery with Chaplain Lonnie parker of the American Legion Post No. 69 officiating.
The body will be cremated under direction of Herman Lohmeyer Funeral Home.
Mrs. Truman died April 17, in Grandview Manor Care Center.
Born in Harveyville, Kan. and living there most of her life, she was married to retired Army Maj. Gen. Ralph E. Truman, cousin of former President Harry S. Truman. Mrs. Truman was a reporter for newspapers her family owned and then became a reporter for the International News Service until 1929. She was honorary lifetime president of the Executive Committee of the 35th Division Association, a member of the Missouri Historical Society, and of American Legion Auxiliary.
Her husband preceded her in death in 1962.
Surviving are two stepsons, retired Army Lt. Gen. Louis W. Truman, Atlanta, and retired Army Col. Corbie R. Truman, McKinney, Texas; a stepdaughter, Henrietta Truman Davidson, Plano, Texas; step- grandchildren; step-great grandchildren; and nieces, Doris Helfrecht, Springfield, and Gladys Maude Talbot, Columbia, S.C.
