Herman John Miller was born September 25, 1885 in Naperville, DuPage County, Illinois the son of Charles Wilhelm Frederick Miller and Fredericka Karve. He attended the Naperville schools and then went to work in the Fly Net factory at the age of 14. By the age of 24 he was working at the Naperville Lounge factory as a packer. He married Martha Klingeberger June 3, 1916 in Naperville and they had one son, Harold. Herman then went to work for the Naperville Cemetery Association as the Sexton in 1923 and worked there until he retired. He was raised a Master Mason October 15, 1927 in Euclid Lodge. He died November 28, 1968 in Sandwich, Illinois and was buried in the Naperville Cemetery.
