Parents of William E.Dunavant were James M. Dunavant (1840-1900) and Annie L. Whitman (b. 1848). Both parents were born in Tennessee. He had a brother, Grover Cleveland Dunavant who was born 11-Apr-1895 in Turrell, and died 16-Feb-1945 in Turrell, Crittenden County.

W. E. Dunnavant and Edith May Lung, both of Lambethville, AR, were married Dec 1904 in Crittenden County, AR.

At the time of the 1910 census, Will E.Dunavant and wife Edith, along with 4 month old daughter, Hazel Marie, were living in Black Oak Twp, Crittenden County, AR. Edith had given birth to 3 children with only one living, Will Dunavant's father had been born Alabama, his mother in Tennessee.

By 1920, the family was still in Black Oak Twp, Crittenden County, AR. They lived on and near Earle and Tyronza Road. They had three daughters in the household; Hazel age 12, Edna age and Eula May age months.
