Mrs. W. C. Wilson
Mrs. Emma Jane Wilson, 86, widow of W. C. Wilson, died Saturday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. K. G. Shockley, in Newport News.
Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at the Orcutt Avenue Baptist church by the Rev. Dr. Herman T. Stevens, pastor. Interment was in the Greenlawn cemetery.
Active pallbearers were R. O. Huntley, R. L. Stringfield, J. Stanley Livesay, Fred Blake, L. B. Stokes, John Shockley, Earl Shockley, and J. B. Eubank. Honorary pallbearers included members of the Daughters of Liberty, and other friends.
Mrs. Wilson was a native of Mathews county, but had lived in Newport News 48 years. She was Miss Adams before her marriage.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Shockley and Mrs. Clarence E. Brickley of Baltimore; a brother, John P. Adams of Norfolk; 11 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
