Mary Alice Barber Hall, 86, left us to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 5, 2009, at a care center in Meridian Idaho. She was born February 4, 1923 in Atkins, Arkansas, a daughter of Otis Leroy and Minnie Bell McAlister May. Mary Alice and her parents later moved to Eufaula, Oklahoma, with her four brothers and two sisters. Mary attended schools in Eufaula, and was Senior Class President and valedictorian.

She later worked as an operator for South Western Bell telephone company. During World War II, she worked as Rosie Riveter at Douglas Aircraft Company. On May 13, 1944, she married Roy A. Barber in Eufaula, Oklahoma. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They had two children, a son, Joseph and a daughter, Alice Ruth.

Mary and her family moved to Pocatello in 1949. She worked as a florist at the Pocatello Green House for many years. She was gifted at making floral arrangements and enjoyed flowers until her passing.

Roy passed away October 15, 1987. In 1992, she married Clarence G. Hall and he passed away in 2007. Her daughter, Alice Ruth, preceded her in 1997.

She was an active member of the LDS Church and had severed in various callings through her life. She also enjoyed attending the temple. She will be sorely missed by her family and all who knew her.

She is survived by a son,, Joe Barber, Boise, Idaho, 4 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, her daughter, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the LDS Chapel on the corner of Jefferson and Walnut with Bishop Rod Flahaut of the Alameda 2nd Ward officiating.

Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will meet with friends on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Manning-Wheatly Funeral Chapel, 510 North 12th Ave and on Tuesday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Manning-Wheatly Funeral Chapel.
