Funeral services for Mrs. Luella Hendershot, wife of Harry Hendershot, of Hackettstown, were held yesterday, Thursday, from her late home on Main Street. Mrs. Hendershot died suddenly Monday morning at her home. She was 65 years old.
Mrs. Hendershot had complained of slight illness Sunday and a physician was called. Monday morning on the advice of her husband, she remained in bed. A few hours later Mr. Hendershot had returned to see how she was and discovered she had suffered a stroke. He hastily summoned a neighbor and a doctor but Mrs. Hendershot had died of a stroke.
Formerly residents of Independence Township, the Hendershots had lived in Hackettstown for several years. Besides her husband, she is survived by a sister and a brother, Mrs. Charles Cortwright, of Great Meadows, and J.R. Flumerfelt, of East Orange.
Rev. John Christenson, pastor of the Great Meadows Presbyterian Church officiated at the funeral services. Internment was in the Pequest Union Cemetery at Great Meadows.
