Frederick L. Cannon, 54, of Cherryvale, died at 1:30 a.m., Saturday, August 25, 2007, at Labette Health in Parsons. He had been in failing health.
He was born May 4, 1953, in Neodesha, Kansas, to Bobby Lee and Wanda Faye (Barnett) Cannon. He grew up and attended schools in Cherryvale. He later worked in oil fields in the Cherryvale area and Charloma for 10 years. He also worked as a cook at G&W Foods where he prepared barbeque.

He and Joan Martin were married April 5, 1997 in Morehead, Kansas. She survives of the home.

He enjoyed fishing and also hunting in his earlier years.

SURVIVORS: One Daughter - Lori Hartley Coffeyville, KS Two Stepdaughters - Cherokee Anderson Altoona, KS Cheyenne Anderson Altoona, KS Three Grandchildren One Step-Grandchild Two Brothers - Mike Cannon Independence, KS Bill Cannon Independence, KS One Sister - Rhonda McCoy Overland Park, KS

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Dan Cannon.

Following cremation, the family will conduct a memorial service at a later date. Burial will be in Neodesha Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
