Shirley was the daughter of the late Earl and Margaret (Binder)Britt, she was the youngest of seven children (three older half-siblings).
Shirley married Mr.Bannik and had four sons Dale, Dean, David and Dennis.
Shirley was later married to James Hanson on April 2, 1972.
Shirley was a member of the Bad Axe High School Class of 1953. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she was a member of the church choir for 25 years. She was a volunteer in the Shared Blessings Church food pantry and also volunteered, for 24 years, at the Huron County Medical Care Facility. She was also a member of the Thumb Rose Society. Shirley enjoyed playing fames and cards with her grandchildren and having family visit so she could cook for them. Her homemade soups and pies will be greatly missed.
Shirley is survived by four sons Dale(Cathy)Bannik of Bay City, Dean(Jean)Bannik of Bay City, David Bannik of Bad Axe, Dennis(Tammy)Bannik of St Paul NC, one stepson James Hanson, one stepdaughter LaDona(Larry)Carder, one sister Carol O'Brien, one sister in law Harriet Britt, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, one sister Betty Britt, one brother Kenneth Britt, one step son Joseph Hanson, half sister Etta Britt Sturm(my grandmother) and two half brothers Harold and LaVern Britt.
Services will be held on Wednesday April 8, 2009 at 11am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bad Axe, officiating will be Father Rob Howe, paster.
