He volunteered July 26, 1917 and was sent to Fort Sill for training. He spent some months overseas participating in the Battle of the Argonne where he made the supreme sacrifice for his country.Private U.S. Army, World War One-Pvt. Arowood was killed in action while serving with the AEF in France.

Pvt. Arowood is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arowood of Aurora, Missouri.

Awards: Purple Heart Medal, WWI Victory Medal.
