She was born June 14, 1923, in Elwood and resided in Madison County most of her life.
Wilma was a homemaker.
She was a lifelong member of the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn.
She is survived by her children, Larry (wife, Sonja) Abbott of Anderson, Tony (wife, Patricia) Abbott of Indianapolis and Randy (wife, Amy) Abbott of Newburgh; siblings, Robert Waymire of Gas City and Mildred O'Haver of Noblesville; five grandchildren, Laura Green, Troy Abbott, Haley Abbott, Tyler Abbott and Alexander Abbott; five great-grandchildren, Austin Green, Mitchell Green, Zachary Abbott, Peyton Abbott and Jonathan Abbott; and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are many special friends at Southdale Towers.
Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Denver Abbott in November 1982; her parents, Lee and Suzanna (Gifford) Waymire; and a sister, Edna Sheffel.
The family would like to thank the staff members of The Meadowbrooke Rehab Center for their compassionate care.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes and Crematory, South Chapel, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, at the south chapel, officiated by the Rev. Paul Williams. Burial will take place at Forrestville Cemetery, Summitville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
