Ann C. (Johnstone) Jewett, 73, of North Brook Village, formerly of 23 Auburn St., Clinton, died Saturday, April 11, 2009 at the UMass Memorial Healthcare-Memorial Campus in Worcester, after a brief illness.

She is survived by her two children, her daughter Suzanne Jewett of Clinton; and her son William R. Jewett and his wife Anita of Pembroke Pines, FL; one beloved granddaughter Ashley L. Jewett of Fitchburg; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends. Ann is preceded in death by her brother, William "Beezy" Johnstone and her former husband, Russell E. Jewett.

Ann was born in Clinton to the late William T. Johnstone, II and Charlotte (Gordon) Johnstone. She attended local schools and was a graduate of the Clinton High School Class of 1953. A career artist and teacher, Ann owned and operated the former Tic-Tock Ceramics Studio in Clinton for more than twenty years. She was a member of the National Association of Certified Duncan Teachers and proudly restored historic statues for numerous local churches and town halls where her work still remains on display today. Ann was a member of the First Congregational Church in Clinton and held membership with the illustrious Ladies GOMA Society. She took pleasure in painting, arts and crafts, and, above all cherished time spent with her loving family and friends.

A Funeral Service is to be held at 11AM on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at the First Congregational Church, 34 Walnut St., Clinton. Burial will be held privately at Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 from 4 until 7PM at the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Russell E. and Ann C.
