He worked at Caterpillar for over fourty years as a Planning Processor. Clarence enjoyed fishing, was an avid Chicago Bulls fan, camping, and having coffee with his many friends. Clarence was devoted to his wife and his family.
He is survived by his five sons, Bill (Arlene) Bantz of Plano, Robert (Diane) Bantz of Ft. Pierce, FL; his twin sons, Gerald (Sharron) Bantz of Plano and Harold (Betty Anne) Bantz of Columbia, IL and Jim (Connie) Bantz of Piper City, IL; 16 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren; six great great-grandchildren; one sister, Charlotte Gordon of Sandwich, IL, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary; and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 20, 2009 at the Turner-Eighner Funeral Home (1/4 mile west of Eldamain Rd on Rt 34) Plano, IL with Jim Harkins officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home on Friday. Burial will follow at Little Rock Twp. Cemetery in Plano.
