CUMBERLAND (AP) - Mrs. Ethel Grove, 64, wife of former baseball star Robert M. (Lefty) Grove, died at Memorial Hospital Tuesday after a long illness. She had been hospitalized about a week.
Grove, the last major league pitcher to win 300 games, is a member of baseball's Hall of Fame. He lives in nearby Lonaconing.
Survivors include a son, Robert, Jr. of Norwalk, Ohio, and a daughter, Mrs. Edward Monnette, Funkstown, MD.

-----LONACONING,MARYLAND ------ Services for Mrs. Ethel Grove, 64, Washington Street, wife of Robert M. Grove, who died yesterday in Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, will be conducted at the Eichhorn Funeral Home tomorrow at 2 PM, by Rev. C. H. Goshorn.
Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.
A native of Lonaconing, she was a daughter of the late William G. and Sarah (Wilson) Gardner. Mrs. Grove was a member of the Methodist Church and the Pythian Sisters.
Surviving are two children, Mrs. Edward Monnette, Funkstown, and Robert G. Grove, Jr., Norwolk, Ohio: five brothers, John, William, Ellsworth, and Sam Gardner, all of here, and Walter Gardner, Frostburg, and a grandchild.
The body is at the Eichhorn Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM.
