David Rife of Heltonville, IN, died Thursday, June 3, 1999, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Born on January 14, 1939, in Monroe County, IN, he was the son of Cecil and Della (Eads) Rife. He married Wilma Scott on July 10, 1957, and she survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Shelley Elaine Rife, at home; two brothers, Cecil Boyd Rife and Charles Rife, both of Bloomington, IN; five sisters: Marilyn Martin and Lois Hillenburg, both of Bedford, IN, Sheila Hogan of Missouri, Sylvia Carol Cain and Brenda Eads, both of Bloomington, IN; two grandsons, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, David Scott Rife, and one sister, Betty Petty.
He was a state highway foreman for twenty-seven years and was a member of the Heltonville Christian Church.
Services for David Rife will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, June 7th, at the Day & Carter Mortuary with the Rev. Jimmy Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at Bartlettsville Christian Cemetery.
