PORTSMOUTH - Mary Johnson Broughton, 99, died Aug. 24, 2003.
Mrs. Broughton, a native of North Carolina, was retired owner of Broughton & Grayson Drapery Shop and a member of Rivershore Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles E. Broughton Sr. and a son, Charles E. ``Smokey'' Broughton.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Angel Broughton of Kill Devil Hills, N.C.; three grandchildren, Bonnie Houck and husband James of Portsmouth, Cynthia Cox of Portsmouth and Kendall Austin and husband Wayne of Wanchese, N.C.; great-grandchildren, Mark Reynolds, Jamie Houck Brown, C.B. Houck, Jessica and Rowdy Austin; and a great-great-grandchild, Ben Brown.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Olive Branch Cemetery by the Rev. Steve Hassell. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, is in charge.
