David Charles Stella FALMOUTH David Charles Stella, age 95, died on April 13, 2009 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Memorial Hospital in Lebanon, NH. He was the devoted husband of the late Mildred (Goyette) Stella. Formerly of Halifax and Norwell, Mr. Stella had enjoyed spending his summers in Plymouth. He was born in Weymouth, MA on February 8, 1914, son of the late Pasquale and Marianna (Galbo) Stella. He graduated from Weymouth High School and Bentley College School of Accounting. He served in the US Navy during World War II. Mr. Stella had worked for most of his life in the insurance business, working for Prudential Insurance for over 27 years. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing cards, basketball, baseball and football. He was co-captain of his high school football team. Mr. Stella was the loving father of David C. Stella , Jr. of Titusville, FL, Patricia Schmidt of Falmouth, Kenneth Stella of Vershire, VT, M.J. Toohey of Cambridge, MA, and Michael Stella of Boston. He was the beloved brother of John H. Stella of Ipswich, and the late Phillip Stella, Mary Moriarty , Josephine Nereo, Lawrence Stella, William Stella, Paul Stella. He was the cherished grandfather of 16 and great grandfather of 8. The Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday at 12:00 noon at St. Peters Church in Plymouth. Friends may call at the Cartmell Funeral Home, 150 Court St., Plymouth, MA on Saturday morning from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. Interment will be in Vine Hills Cemetery, Plymouth.
