A. Wayne Baker of Bedford, IN, died Saturday, July 31, 1999, at Bloomington Hospital. Born on November 10, 1923, in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of William A. and Ruby I. (Hackler) Baker. She married Jean Craig on October 18, 1947, and she survives.

Also surviving are one sister, Pearl Stiles of Bedford, IN; two uncles, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Helen Terry in 1994.

He was retired from General Motors. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the American Legion Gillen Post No. 33. He was a member of the Dive Christian Church.

Services for Wayne Baker will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 3rd, at the Day & Carter Mortuary with the Rev. Johnny Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery with graveside military rites accorded by the American Legion Gillen Post No. 33.
