His siblings: Dorothy Diana Tangman Linneman (1911-2001); Marie Amelia Tangman (1917-1982); and Martha Jean Tangman Glammeyer.
He married Hazel Ellen Robbins (1913-2007) on October 24, 1932 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Their children: Edward Peter 'Sonny' Tangman Jr (1933-2008); Frederick Howard Tangman (1935-1997); William Lee Tangman (1937-2014); Patricia Ann Tangman Speedy Tumey; Mary Louise Tangman Tryon; and Lois Jean Tangman Tryon (1942-2005).
Ed was employed by Union Carbide Co as a product inspector for 35 years, retiring in 1972.
He and his wife established a Sunday School in their garage at 621 S Ingomar, Indianapolis, Indiana in 1947 which was a branch of St Matthews Lutheran Church on East New York St in Indianapolis. (He taught Sunday School until 1991.)
Later a house was bought at 6047 W Morris St and a church was established in 1949 (using part of the house as a parsonage). Still later, about 1952, a block rectangular building was built on the adjoining lot for a church building and the house was then used solely for a parsonage. The house was later moved to 1305 S Waldemere because the highway was coming through.
In 1955 a colonial style church building was built at 711 S High School Rd (the property of W Morris had to be sold to the state for a by-pass 465 to be constructed).
NOTE: The church on S High School was sold to a Muslim group in 2008. The then congregation dedicated a church building at 5706 E County Road 100 N in Avon, Indiana.
(For pictures of the church locations at 6047 W Morris and 711 S High School Rd see FIND A GRAVE entry: Rev Arnold Gregor Raabe #37514738.)
