Edward D. Powell
BORGER. June 30, 1957, Final rites for Edward D. Powell 83, are scheduled at 4 p.m. Monday in the Wesley Methodist Church. The Rev. Loyd Hamilton, pastor of the First Methodist Church will officiate, assisted by the Rev. J.H. Patterson of Amarillo, and the Rev. Amos Meador, pastor of the Church of the Nazarene of Borger.
Mr. Powell, a resident of Texas since 1904 and a Methodist minister and layman in Childress County, had lived with daughter Mrs. G. W. Swaffar, 1000 W. Jackson in Borger since last March.
He died Saturday night at North Plains Hospital. Other survivors include his wife, Mary, of the Borger address three sons, George of Amarillo, Joe of Kermit and Allen of Denver Colo; one sister, Mrs Sally Matthews of Iowa Park, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Internment will be in Memory Gardens in Pampa under the direction of the Minton Funeral Home.
