Sister Clark was born in Berlin, N. Y., and in early life moved to Brookfield, where she married, and after some years, made a profession of religion and united with the 1st Seventh-day Baptist Church of that place. When this country was almost a wilderness, she, with her family, came to Andover. She was one of the constituent members of the Seventh-day Baptist Church of Independence, with which she remained a living testimony of the powers of the blessed gospel to save, until the organization of the Seventh-day Baptist Church at Andover, when she became a member of that church, and with which she continued until death removed her to her rest.

She was one of the kindest of companions and best of mothers; and as a friend, none knew her but to love and remember her with the kindest of feelings.

She retained her faculties unusually well. A few weeks before her death, she made arrangements for her funeral and burial, requesting to be brought to Independence for the funeral, and to be buried beside her husband in our quiet home for the dead. Her request was granted.

She leaves eight children with their families, and a large circle of other relatives to remember her kind deeds, pleasant words, and Christian example.

She waited with patience for her change to come, anxious to go; but no murmur or complaint found a place in her heart for the delay.

Blessed are they who live the life of the righteous; their death shall be one of peace, and their home shall be in heaven.
