Father - Friend - Missionary - Teacher

Adger McKay was a greatly beloved Missionary and Teacher of the Bible. A man of faith he walked with God. From Mexico to Kenya, Montreat, North Carolina to Midland, Texas he shared the Word of God with the people of God.

Growing up in the hills of Henderson County he had a strong work ethic. He was a graduate of Clemson University when it was a Military Academy. In the mid-1950 he answered the call to become a missionary with the Presbyterian Church. For the next years he and Ann served in Mexico.
In 1968 they had a call from God to return to North Carolina. They returned, not knowing what God had in store for them. From a small rental house in Montreat, God used them to touch the lives of college students, families, and churches around the world. He had a tremendous impact upon the lives of all who knew and loved him.

His passing was sudden and tragic. But our loss was God's gain. He was my friend and spiritual Father. My life is more the fuller for his presence. Thanks be to God!

He was married to Ann Burgan Baron McKay. Together they have Three Children: Elizabeth, Mary and Adger Jr
