WASKOM, TX - Graveside services to honor and celebrate the life of Dennis Arrington will be conducted on Friday, February 27, 2009, at 2:00 p.m., at Centuries Memorial Park. Officiating will be Rev. Steve Caraway and Rev. Jonathan Beck. The family will receive friends and loved ones on Thursday evening between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home.

Dennis was born on January 23, 1951, in Ruston, LA to Mrs. Maxine R. Arrington and the late Mr. Clarence A. Arrington. He left this life at the age of 58, on Tuesday, February 24, 2009.

Growing up, Dennis loved to hunt, fish and be outdoors. He was a 1969 graduate of Fair Park High School and also graduated in 1973 from electrician school. In the summer of the same year, he was named Electrician of the Year. Dennis was employed as an electrician with General Motors for 28 years and thoroughly enjoyed his co-workers whom he called "his friends". He loved being a prankster and playing jokes, being a dad, and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Clarence A. Arrington. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Mrs. Maxine Arrington of Shreveport; fiance', Ms. Charlotte B. Smith of Waskom, TX; daughter, Christie Carroll and husband, Wade of Trussville, AL; son, Wade Arrington and wife, Angela of Fultondale, AL; sister, Louann Jackson and husband, Michael of Shreveport; his grandchildren who affectionately called him "Doo-Dah", Courtnie Carroll, Laura Lacy Arrington, Cameron Carroll, and Daniel Arrington; and step-grandchildren, Cameron Nickel, Tori Emminger, and Jacob Nunn.
