Margaret Lois Burnham passed away on April 15, 2009 in Bountiful, UT due to complications of age.

She was born February 16, 1921 in West Point, UT. She was the daughter of Frank Corbett Lee, and Jenny Irene Montgomery.

Most of her youth was spent in Yost, UT and Malta, ID, where she graduated from Raft River High School. Lois then attended the Albion State Normal School in Idaho, for two years, where she obtained her teaching certificate. She then taught elementary school for three years in Rexburg, Idaho and two years in Jerome, ID during World War II.

On May 27, 1946, Lois married Woodrow Arden Burnham of Brigham City, UT in the Salt Lake Temple. During their life together, they lived in California and Washington before returning to Utah in 1970. They had three sons, Paul (Danielle) of Sacramento, CA; Scott (Marilee) of Pocatello, ID; and Robert (Leeann) of Farmington, UT.

Lois devoted her life to the raising of her three sons. She was known for her fierce devotion to her children, and instilled in each of them a strong sense of right and wrong. Lois was a faithful member of the LDS Church throughout her life.

She enjoyed her many callings, which included service with the youth, various teaching positions, and in the Relief Society. The commitment of her children to The Gospel of Jesus Christ can be attributed to the example she set for them from the beginning.

She is survived by her sister, Thelma Coles; her brother, Elson (June) Lee; three sons, 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and her husband of 63 years, Woodrow.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Farmington City Cemetery, 500 South 200 East, Farmington, UT.
