JAMES L. PLUMLEY, 81, of Abraham, died Tuesday at 2:26 a.m. in a Beckley hospital after a long illness.
Born Aug. 7, 1901, at Abraham, he was a son of the late Silas Floys and Mary Ann Todd Plumley.
Mr. Plumley was a retired farmer, a World War II veteran and a member of the New Salem Missionary Baptist Church at Abraham.
Survivors include two brothers, Norman Plumley of Shady Spring and George M. Plumley of Abraham; two sisters, Orpha Bennett of Meadow Bridge and Bertha Bennett of Mount Hope; a half brother, Dovis C. Plumley of New Castle, Del.; two half sisters, Nina P. and Alma Plumley, both of Shady Spring.
Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in the New Salem Missionary Baptist Church at Abraham. Burial will be in the Washington Plumley Cemetery at Abraham.
Friends may call today from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home in Beckley and at the church one hour prior to services.
