Dexter, MO - Wilma "Winnie" McCanne, 84, died May 4, 2004, at Missouri Southern Healthcare.
Born June 11, 1919, in Calloway County, daughter of the late Robert Bland and Anna Virginia Dawson Kemp, she attended the First Church of the Nazarene in Dexter. She was a member of the Dexter Hospital Auxiliary, Disabled American Veterans, Dexter Eagles Aerie 4062 and was a volunteer for the Dexter Senior Center.
On April 24, 1943, at Lawton, OK, she married Dr. Joe Ridings McCanne who preceded her in death on Feb. 10, 1984.
Survivors include: one son, James McCanne; five daughters, Patricia Tripp, Emily Scott, Katherine Scott, Sue Snider, and Mary Robertson; one brother, Charles Kemp; one sister, Frances Simmons; and 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were three brothers, R.B. Kemp, Paul Kemp and Jack Kemp; and one grandson, Sean Tripp.
Visitation was until service time at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. The Rev. M.L. Duffie officiated.
Graveside services were conducted at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Columbia.
