Mrs. Sallie Langley, 84, who had lived near Wagoner since 1901, died Wednesday morning, August 23, 1944, in a Muskogee hospital. Mrs. Langley, widely known here as "Aunt Sallie" was born near Fort Gibson, Indian Territory, December 20, 1859.
Funeral services for Mrs. Langley will be held this afternoon at 4:30 o'clock in the Wagoner First Methodist Church. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Almus Bearden of Chouteau, with burial in Wagoner's Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of the Hersman Funeral Home.
Mrs. Langley is survived by two daughters; Mrs. Ella Fite, of Salem, Oregon and Mrs. Susie Ward of Oklahoma City, and one son; George Langley of Muskogee. Several grandchildren also survive.

She was Cherokee! Her parents, Pleasant and Fannie (Hicks) Bean were Trail of Tears survivors! My husband's family descended from another daughter of Pleasant and Fannie, Ellen (Bean) Yates. She was given a land allotment in Oklahoma (Indian Territory) which our family still has.
