C. H. Abernathey Dies At Nuttall

Nuttall, May 23 - Charles Henry Abernathey, 73, died unexpectedly today at his home.

A resident of Gloucester since early childhood, he was a farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sarah Louis Abernathey; five daughters, Mrs. Virginia Heywood of Bena, Mrs. Bessie Clements of Wan, Mrs. Catherine Lemons of Petersburg, Mrs. Ann Henshaw of Richmond and Miss Marjorie Abernathey of Newport News; four sons, George W. Abernathey of East Orange N.J., Henery W. Abernathey of Severn, Charles A. Abernathey and Leslie Abernathey, both of Nuttall, and eight grandchildren.

The funeral cortege will leave the Ware Funeral Home, Gloucester, at 1:30 Friday afternoon for the Mt. Zion Methodist Church, Nuttall, where services will be held at 2 p.m. with the Rev. O. L. Gouchnour, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be made in the Locust Grove Cemetery, Soles.

Active pallbearers will be Thomas Benson, Wesley Clements, Samuel Healy, Eugene Streagle, Franklin Thomas and Mr. Fitzgerald.
