For the first 21 years of their married life, they lived on a farm south of Taylorville before moving to Decatur in 1960. Kathryn worked outside the home for only 10 years, in sales for the Smallwood Uniform Co., retiring in 1983.
Surviving are her daughters, Karin Fisher, Sharon (John) Alberts, Carol (Joe) Harding and Cheryl (John) Eckert; son, Deacon John Michael (Sandy) O'Brien; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Geneva Abell and Thelma Goebel; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James, in 1992; brother, Robert; one granddaughter; and two great-grandsons.
