On April 12th, 2009, Easter Sunday, God called home one of His faithful servants. "S.P.", as he was known to family & friends, was born in Smithville, Texas. He graduated from Smithville High School in 1958. He moved to Corpus Christi, where he was employed by Central Power Line. He then moved to Houston, Texas. He was employed by Cameron Iron Works, as a Heavy Equiptment Maintenance Operator, for 38 years.

Once he retired, he dedicated the rest of his life to the Lord, whom he loved to praise & worship. He was a faithful Deacon and Treasurer of The Mountain of Faith Outreach Ministries Church, under the leadership of Pastor Norris L. Littles Sr. He was also a member of the choir.

His CB Handle was "IRON MAN" and later changed to "BILLY JACK"

He leaves to celebrate his life and momory: his loving and devoted wife of 29 years, Geraldine M. Owens(Jeri), son, Shawn Owens, daughter,Cora Darlene Bonner; two step-sons, William Baker, Jr and Javier Baker and step-daughter, Charlotte Love Geter. Brothers, Arthur and Earnest owens: sister JoAnn Jackson. 13 grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandson: numerous Nieces, Nephews, Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, Friends and Colleagues.

"Deacon Owens, it has been an Honor to have known you. The bright smile will be missed so much. Thanks for always being there for all of us at The Mountain Of Faith Outreach Ministries. You will be forever in our hearts. May God Bless You & Keep You".
