Albert H. CARITHERS, 77, died early today in his sleep at his home two miles southeast of Argos. Death came from a heart ailment.
Born Oct. 19., 1882, in Richland township, he was the son of Hiram and Melissa COLLINS CARITHERS, who owned the former Kentucky Stock Farm. He had lived the past 40 years near Argos. His first marriage was in 1904 to Clara McALEXANDER, who died in 1906. He was married in 1918 to Altha WILSON, who survives.
Mr. Carithers, a farmer and carpenter, was a member of the Argos Methodist church.
Surviving, Besides the wife, are three daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Irene) WALKER, Alhambra, Cal.; Mrs. Charles (Mary Jo) ROE, R.R. 2, Goshen,and Mrs. Lester (Ruth SMITH, Kendallville; one son, Eugene [CARITHERS], Bremen; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Nellie BROOKER, Rochester. One brother and two sisters preceded him in death.
funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Grossman funeral home at Argos with burial in the I.O.O.F. cemetery in Rochester. Friends may call after Thursday noon at the funeral home.
