Marvel married her high school sweetheart, Lou Money. They had four children and a foster daughter.
Marvel was a lifelong resident of Benzie County and leader in the community. She owned and operated Money's Platte River Inn from 1952 until retirement. During that time she was an active member of the Honor Lions Club and chaired the Coho Festival for over 30 years. She spent much of her time working on various charities within her hometown of Honor. Many teenagers learned the ethic of hard work through summer employment at Money's.
Marvel is survived by her children, Larry (Kosar) Money, Terry (Inger) Money and Paul (Robin) Money; foster daughter, Lucy (Greg) Wright; brother, Bruce (Pauline) Rosa; and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were often recipients of her handmade blankets and embroidery.
Marvel was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lou; her daughter, Sharon; her brothers, Paul and Bud Rosa; and her sister, Pat Geetings.
Cremation has taken place. Final interment will take place in Inland Township Cemetery next to husband, Lou, and daughter, Sharon, on Saturday, June 18, at 1 p.m. The family will receive friends a half hour before interment. Pastor Dan Ingersoll will officiate.
Contributions may be directed to the Benzie Food Partners, PO Box 598, Honor, MI 49640; Benzie Animal Welfare League or the Benzie Wildlife Habitat, PO Box 24, Honor, MI 49640.
