Beatrice R. Rankey
RAWSON -- Beatrice R. Rankey, age 78, of Rawson, died at 7:13 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004 at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center.
She was born Sept. 24, 1926 in Findlay to Floyd O. and Leona M. (Marquart) Bormuth. Bea married Harold H. Rankey on June 27, 1948, and he survives.
Also surviving are: one son, Stephen H. (Linda) Rankey of Findlay; one daughter, Ann (Nelson) Welch of Jenera; three grandchildren, Luke R. and Hope E. Davis; and Alexis H. Rankey; four step-grandchildren, Curtis Wisely; Amy Eck; Amanda and Cameron Welch; two great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.
Bea worked as an operator for the Jenera Telephone Company and was a piano teacher. She was a long-time correspondent for the Courier, a member of the Pinochle Club, a charter member of both the Eagle Creek Historical Organization and the B.V.R.H.C. Auxiliary where she served as publicity chairman. Mrs. Rankey was a 1944 graduate of Rawson High School. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church where she served as organist for 54 years and was involved with the choir.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Alois Schmitzer and Rev. Philip Henning officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Arlington.
