The funeral for James Franklin (Frank) Dowdy will be today (Wednesday) at 12:30 p.m. in the chapel of Imes-Miller Funeral Home. Rev. Hal Barrow and Thomas Clendenon will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Daniel, Mike Scott, Charlie Sckull, Kenneth Schroader, Joe McKendree and Ray Reynolds. Burial will follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Dowdy, 69, Murray, died Sunday, March 16, 2008, at 12:55 p.m. at his home.
He had retired from the Murray Sanitation Department for the city of Murray after 34 years of service. Born Feb. 13, 1939, he was the son of the late James Vidas Dowdy and Edith Dowdy McKinney. One grandson, Jason Robert Dowdy, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Dowdy; two sons, Jimmy Dowdy and wife, Melissa, and Danny Dowdy, and one daughter, Kathy McKendree and husband, Joe, all of Murray; three brothers, Jerry Dowdy and Ricky Dowdy, all of Murray, and Daryl Dowdy and wife, Diane, Michigan; two sisters, Sharon Elkins, Calhoun, and Patsy Bogard, Benton; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
